The Kya Project works alongside rescues caring for parrots whose histories are often complicated and long-term. Our goal is to reduce pressure on rescues by providing ongoing community support, funding, and better-prepared adopters.
Partner rescues receive financial support from local chapters, and adopters receive membership access so they can ask questions early, learn appropriate care, and rely less on rescue staff after placement.
We look for organizations that prioritize lifetime welfare, thoughtful placement, and education over speed of adoption. Different methods are welcome. Shared principles matter more than identical practices.
